Resources to Support Black Lives Matter

Hello friends,

I'm taking a break from my usual shop posts to talk about something far more important. As many of you know, last week George Floyd was tragically murdered by four police officers in Minneapolis, MN. Watching the video of him being killed in such a heinous way has stuck with me for days, as have all the other videos of black individuals over the years being outright murdered.

What is something that has always shocked me - is the way the news cycle has worked for the past decade whenever a black American is murdered at the hands of police. The video circulates. People are shaken and demand justice. The media stops paying attention. Justice is barely reached. The cycle continues. Justice seems like such a far stretch to achieve in so many of these instances.

This time will hopefully not be like those times. This moment in history finally feels different. This is a national call to gain knowledge of the issues at hand and for activism. Activism can be marching at a protest, reading or listening to black sources, buying from black businesses and artists and donating to causes.

I'm adding in a list of great resources to check out, shop links and places that are taking donations to this post. Honor the memory and remember the names we know from these injustices - George Floyd, Sandra Bland, Laquon McDonald, Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, Emitt Till, and countless others.
